Sport at Racemeadow

Sport at Racemeadow

We love sport at Racemeadow and get the chance to try out a variety of different types during our PE lessons, in extra curricular clubs and at inter-school competitions.

School Sports Week

Every year at Racemeadow we take part in the Youth Sports Trust's  School Sports Week. During this week children and staff have the chance to take part in lots of different activities such as -  cricket, archery, zumba, frisbee, fencing and a

mini Olympics.

Inter-School Sports

We are lucky to have the opportunity and to have the support from school staff and parents to take part in a wide range of inter-school competitions. Some of those we have participated in include ...

Dodgeball

During the Autumn term, some of our Year 6  took part in a Dodgeball Tournament.

Due to Covid, the team hadn't played Dodgeball for 3 years but they were fantastic and after finishing in second place, they went through to the finals. On finals day, the team pulled together and only lost 1 match overall but unfortunately it wasn't enough to take a medal. Well done Year 6!

Cricket

In Cricket, our Year 5/6 boys team finished 2nd in their competition whilst our Year 5/6 girls team became champions. We were very impressed with the skills, sportsmanship and determination shown by both teams and are incredibly proud of their achievements.

Quadkids

Our Year 3/4 Quadkids team took part in an athletics competition against eleven other local schools and after lots of running, jumping and throwing we were delighted to be told that they had won the whole competition to become 2023 champions.
