Summer 2 Mini-Mission

Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside

In Design and Technology we all designed and made a new puppet for a Punch and Judy show. We looked at lots of puppets first to see how they worked and how they were made then we designed a new character for the show. We practised different joining techniques before choosing our favourite technique to make our own puppet.

In Science, children will learn about animals and their habitats. In History, children will learn how the seaside has changed over time. In Design and Technology, children will design and make a hand puppet using textiles and in Computing, children will learn about coding.

On immersion day we talked lots about the seaside then we made seagulls, windmills and even rolled our own seaside rock to go in our shop!

Lady with the Lamp

This half term, our topic is Lady with the Lamp. We are learning all about the life of Florence Nightingale and how she changed the way nurses work in hospitals today.

On Wednesday 2nd March, Florence Nightingale visited our classroom and we asked her all sorts of questions about her life.

Lights, Camel, Action! by Year 1 and 2.

Sadly, after all our hard work preparing and practising, our Christmas play - 'Lights, Camel, Action!' had to be cancelled, but we decided to perform our songs for a video so that we could share them with you. We hope you enjoy listening to them and joining in!

In History, we will be learning about our local history, including a visit to Tamworth Castle, about significant historical events and about people and places in our own locality.
