Chinese New Year

We have been busy celebrating Chinese New Year. We have enjoyed learning about the story of The Great Race and have made a rabbit to mark this year. We have done lots of creating: making lanterns, dragons and red envelopes using the main colour red, as it brings good luck. We have also had some tricky challenges, writing Chinese symbols and using chopsticks to eat the stir fry noodles we cooked. We especially enjoyed the story of 'The Runaway Wok' and enjoyed joining in with the repeated refrains in the book.

Spring 1 Traditional Tales

In Reception, this half term, we have been taking a trip through the wonderful world of the traditional tales. Over the last three weeks we have enjoyed sharing the stories of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Gingerbread Man, The Three Little Pigs and a range of other traditional stories.

We have been exploring the characters and their behaviours, for example ‘How did the bears feel when Goldilocks went into their house without asking first?’

We have been making story maps, trying to find out who had been in our classroom and creating wanted posters for the wolf.  - Please log into your Tapestry account to see photographs of our learning this term.

The Three Little Pigs - Read Aloud Kids Book - Bedtime Story with Dessi!

Jump into this book with me as I read aloud this bedtime story book for kids. Bedtime stories and nap time stories for toddlers and older children are a great way to spend time together with family while reading your favorite story. In this book we learn that strong and sturdy is not always what we think.
