Safe and Active Travel

After a successful 2 years, earning the GOLD AWARD we will be taking part in the

Warwickshire Safe and Active Schools Award again this year.

This year we are aiming to achieve the new PLATINUM AWARD!!!

What do we need to do in order to achieve this award?

Throughout the year we will be participating in many Road Safety related activities, in our classes, as a school and at home. Each of these activities will not only help us learn how to stay safe as we travel but also earn us points.

We are aiming to earn 26 points by the end of the school year. laugh

Meet our Junior Road Safety Officers!

At Racemeadow we love it when our children travel to school on their bikes and scooters. We have the perfect place for them to keep them safe and locked right outside our main entrance.

Ladybirds and Caterpillars had a visit from Warwick Bear during our first half term. They had a great afternoon learning how to cross the road safely!

Year 1 have been learning about Safe and Unsafe aspects of travelling near roads.

HOW WELL DO YOU THINK THEY DID?

Over half term, our JRSOs set a competition for KS1 children to design an outfit for Warwick Bear so that he would 'be bright and be seen'. They also set a competition for KS2 children to design a poster of Road Safety rules.           We had lots of entries. WELL DONE EVERYONE! 🤗

OUR KS2 COMPETITION WINNERS!

ROAD SAFETY WEEK

Today marks the first day of Road Safety Week. We had an assembly to remind us how to stay safe near roads and some of us completed activities in class too.

How can you be a Road Safety Hero?
